GIRLS BOYS LOVE CASH

Girls Boys Love Cash is a devised theatre play focusing on topics like the body, consumption and sex work co-produced in 2017 by Citizen Kane Kollectiv and Junges Ensemble Stuttgart after a two years documentation process in Stuttgart and Bucharest.Together with the JES (Junges Ensemble Stuttgart) and young people, the Citizen.KANE.Kollektiv researched the topic of prostitution in Stuttgart and Bucharest. Based on this research, the show explores the tension between body and consumption in a thoroughly capitalist world.

This is my body. I can do whatever I want with it. This is your money. I want to have it. Money is power, time, luxury. But how do I get money if I have nothing to offer? What if my body becomes a commodity and my youth becomes capital? What would you be willing to do? How far would you go? Where are your boundaries?

Besides its run at the Junges Ensemble Stuttgart, the play has been performed in SENS INTERDITS – Festival international de théâtre 2018 in Lyon, in the frame of IETM 2018 (International network for contemporary performing arts) in SCHAUBURG München, THEATER DER JUNGEN WELT 2018, Leipzig, FEST(IN) PE BOULEVARD 2019 Bucharest, AUGENBLICK MAL! 2019, Berlin.
