Green Hours Live(s) is a multimedia site-specific installation that takes the visitor on a journey and in an affective foray into the space and history of Green Hours, an iconic space in the Bucharest of the ’90s and ’00s where dozens of actors, musicians, directors, set designers, playwrights and other cultural workers have asserted themselves.
The exhibition was open to the public for two weeks in the fall of 2022. The visitors would discover testimonies, objects, images, sounds that recreated the atmosphere and spirit of one of the most beloved independent cultural spaces in Bucharest. In this journey through the space, the visitor is accompanied by an audio guide accessible by scanning the QR codes in place.
The spirit and atmosphere of Green Hours are reconstituted by joining some multidisciplinary elements that defined its identity.
The initiator and curator of the project, Cinty Ionescu recovers and uses visual elements from the Green Hours archive supplemented with dozens of filmed testimonies of cultural personalities close to the space in Calea Victoriei 120 and to its initiator, Voicu Radescu. The auditive journey imagined by playwright Peca Ștefan and brought to life by actors Mihaela Rădescu and Laurentiu Bănescu creates an emotional guide to the place. It is completed by the musical ambience composed by Mihai Iordache.
